Lifelong Brotherhood
It is good to come back to the source of all good things. We need water; we need food; and we need something for the spirit, and I don’t think there is anything better than a touch of refreshment of brotherhood and I don’t know of any better place to find that inspiration than in Pi Kappa Phi.
Howard Leake,
Rho (Washington & Lee)
National President 1948-1950
With more than 200 chartered chapters since our founding in 1904, Pi Kappa Phi has initiated over 90,000 members in its history. The need for something of the spirit that Brother Leake refers to in his now famous quote underscores the importance of promoting lifelong brotherhood. Pi Kappa Phi is committed to keeping the fraternal bonds alive between alumni, each other and their chapter, by facilitating positive and meaningful interaction. Whether it is reading about your chapter in the most recent Star & Lamp, receiving an invitation to a local alumni reception, or reading about a pledge brother in your chapter newsletter, staying connected with your fraternity is the essence of lifelong brotherhood.
