NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
The Foundation provides several scholarships that recognize Pi Kappa Phi undergraduate and graduate students who excel in areas of academics, chapter leadership and campus/community involvement. These scholarships underscore an important part of the Foundation’s mission while providing real and tangible support to student leaders who bring credit to themselves and their fraternity. PI KAPP SCHOLARS AWARD
Grant: $1,000
Eligibility: Juniors and Seniors with a minimum 3.0 G.P.A. cumulative average.

Pi Kappa Phi’s longest running scholarship, the Pi Kapp Scholars award was first granted in the fall term of 1927.  Since then, more than 525 students have been singled out by their fraternity as exceptional leaders in the classroom and chapter room. The highest scholastic accolade offered by Pi Kappa Phi, this scholarship is the capstone for any undergraduate member’s academic career.  Annually, between five and seven student leaders are recognized with this distinction. 

TURN AROUND SCHOLARS AWARD
Grant
: $500
Eligibility: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors.  Candidates must show marked and sustained improvement over two consecutive semesters.

University or college life can be a hard adjustment at times.  The pressures of time management often result in a lower-than-expected start to one’s academic career.  The Turn Around Scholar Award is designed to encourage and reward students who struggled in their early scholastic pursuits, but who have reached a higher level of academic performance through focus, determination and other demonstrable steps. Annually, one to four students are recognized with this award.

OUTSTANDING ASSOCIATE MEMBER
Grant: $500
Eligibility: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. Associate members, first semester brothers and members of any associate chapter with a 3.0 G.P.A. cumulative average are eligible to apply. You must have associated with Pi Kappa Phi during the Fall 2007 or Spring 2008 semester.

Balancing the demands of school work and associate membership in Pi Kappa Phi can be challenging.  To help reinforce the primacy of academic work during a fraternity’s member education period, the Foundation annually recognizes between one and four students who have successfully lead in the classroom while remaining in good standing during their associate membership.

CRAIG A. WINKELMANN HEALTH PROFESSIONS SCHOLARSHIP
Grant: $500
Eligibility: Seniors and first-year graduate students pursuing work in one of the following fields:dentistry, osteopathic medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and general medicine.  A minimum 3.0 G.PA. cumulative average (or 3.25 previous term) is required.

Named for Dr. Craig Winkelmann, a re-founding father of the Alpha Rho chapter at West Virginia, this award recognizes students who were academically successful during their undergraduate studies, served their chapter, and have chosen to pursue a career in the medical sciences.  Annually, one student is recognized with this prestigious award.

INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARS AWARD NEW!
Grant: Up to $4,000
Eligibility: All initiated members of Pi Kappa Phi carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours and possessing a minimum G.P.A. of 3.0.  Special consideration will be given to those applicants who can illustrate a financial need.

Pi Kappa Phi believes that the challenges of tomorrow will require thoughtful, engaged and knowledgeable leaders who understand our ever-globalizing world. To help meet that challenge, this scholarhsip makes grant money available to those students who have been accepted into an accredited study abroad program. This award, funded by Foundation Trustee Jack Casper, Alpha Upsilon (Drexel), and another anonymous alumnus, is intended to inspire students to consider an international component to their general studies work.
